My historical portraits are my latest work. My other bodies of works are Powwow dancers, leggings and headdresses. I made my first Indian drawings when I was 4 or 5 years old. However I started painting more seriously in 1991 after visiting Powwow dances and reservations in Louisiana and Texas.

I started with acrylic paintings and watercolors but soon changed to etchings. In the late 90’s I displayed my Hand Colored Etchings at galleries in Colorado, Wyoming and Montana

I am concerned about the face and head and how it transforms when the face paint, feathers and other regalia are applied. The regalia have special meaning for the user. It sends signals about: status, accomplishments and spirituality. Different regalia were used during wars, dances and during hunting etc.
