I've long had an interest in Indians and Indian culture. After moving too the U.S. in 1991 it became a passion. I felt an urge to paint and draw Native American portraits. I experimented with different media. Etching and acrylic painting was what I used most in the period 1993-2002. In recent years there has been more oil painting on panel, canvas or paper. I'm exploring new media such as computer art. In 2008 I made my own website: Leif Bakka.com with many of my Indian paintings. I had a need for some sort of database of my art, and in 2009 (with help) we created Leif Bakka Art.com. Leif Bakka Art shows a lot of art that I've made recently pluss early works. On Bakka-Prints.com which is new in 2010, I will sell prints of my paintings. I have selected the dragonfly as a logo or mark for my art. The dragonfly is often an importent element in Indian mythology and art.
